The Dana Point beer scene is HOPPING with a variety of Local Taprooms that offer patio dining, locally made and award winning craft beer, and awesome food that allows for slowing down and drinking up. Best yet, most of the taprooms are family and dog friendly. Here is what is on TAP in Dana Point!
Station Craft Brew Pub offers not only craft locally made beer, they also love highlighting collabs with other local craft breweries and they have an amazing happy hour that is offered Monday-Friday making it an awesome spot for watching sports. Their cocktails are on point, especially the Violent Lantern! Grab an order of their Smoked Chicken Nachos or check out their Brunch or The Smoke Show (smoked meats and bbq) on the weekends.
Delahunt Tap Room and Taqueria offers craft beer brewed in San Clemente, rad tacos, and a salsa flight that will help you answer those trivia questions during their Trivia Night on Wednesdays!! This is a great place to go for a casual night out with friends. They brew limited monthly beers while consistently experimenting with new styles while remaining loyal and offering their award winning staples. Grab some beer to go!
Dana Point Ale House serves beers on tap from Humboldt to San Diego. Owned by Dana Point native, Christian Goodman. He spent his youth running around the streets of Dana Point and attended Dana Hills High School. His love for community and beer is apparent with its location in the new Prado West neighborhood, and did we mention that Dana Point Ale House also has an adjoining outdoor space where you can enjoy a pint with your pup while enjoying a game of corn hole or two.
Project Social not only serves awesome breakfast burritos, beer, wine but its patio dining is perfect for families too, it’s nice and open with a beach breeze!! This is a great place to go for a relaxed meal with the family or if you work from home, it’s a terrific spot to meet someone over a speciality beer like Beach Hoppin from Lost Winds in San Clemente paired with the Burger of the Month or a Brown Sugar Latte with The Killer Dana Breakfast Burrito. What’s awesome is that Project Social loves giving back to causes, this month when you round up your bill they will be donating back to the Hawaii Wildfire Recovery Fund. Now that’s a good reason to grab a pint!
Dana Point beers are supported at most of the restaurants, and some have collaborated with the craft beer scene like the End of Summer Craft Beer Dinner at Glasspar, featuring, San Juan Capistrano’s Docent Beer, but since one of the biggest highlights of Dana Point is the fact it’s the Dolphin and Whale Watching Capital of the World ®, so the combination of beers on the water with our local celebrities makes a whole lot of sense!!
Beer cruises are a must try and are offered in Dana Point Harbor by two of our Whale Watching Tour Companies making beer on the water a pretty rad experience. Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching offers a seasonal beer cruise with Los Molinos Brewery and Captain Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Safari offers a Brews Cruise Beer Tasting Bash. It’s a great way to venture out of the norm and encounter the beautiful views of the harbor while sampling delicious craft beer on the water.
