Dana Point will light up the sky on the 4th of July at 9:00 p.m. with fireworks launching from a barge off the coastline of Doheny State Beach. Fireworks can be seen from both Doheny State Beach and Dana Point Harbor, making it the optimal destination to view the night sky full of magic. Prior to the fireworks show, the Condor Squadron – consisting of WWII North American AT-6 airplanes – will be making a flyover in Dana Point from 5:50-5:55pm. Look up to the skies for this annual tradition.

Cruise the coast on the FREE Dana Point Trolley! Visitors and locals alike can hop on the Dana Point Trolley and explore all parts of town while on the North Route or South Route. Access to Doheny State Beach on the morning of 4th of July is very congested. A line of vehicles forms overnight to enter Doheny, so please plan ahead. Left turn movements on Dana Point Harbor Drive will be restricted the night before at Puerto Place, in the early morning hours at Park Lantern, and in the Harbor west of Golden Lantern during the event.
Scenic Drive will be closed at Cove Road starting at 8pm due to emergency access issues and will reopen after the fireworks. Cove Road will be closed from 8:50-9:30pm to allow for emergency access vehicles only and will reopen after the fireworks to allow exiting traffic from the Harbor to use as an alternative.
